Happy Weekend

I'm back from Nevada City, and the infusion went really well this month!  I started yoga and pilates today, and got lots of work in.  Kind of overdid it, and crashed early, which is something I know not to do, but I was feeling SO good I wanted to keep going.

Tomorrow and Sunday are busy.  Friends here tomorrow, and Sunday is intake day at the Gallery, and I have to get everything catalogued.  I'm submitting 18 pairs of earrings.

Will write Sunday, but wanted to say I'm back and raring to go on new pieces!

Up to the (other) mountains

I'm off to Nevada City to visit my family for a few days, then I have an infusion on Thursday.  So I may be 'not so present', but who knows?

Here's what I have finished as commissions (which later I made more of for Etsy):

Amphorae 2, brass and sterling silver.

Amphorae bracelet, brass.
HMMMM...wonder where the inspiration, other than ancient Greek art, did these come from? :)

xoxo and talk to you soon!!

Hello world :)

I have had a fantastic day today. Hope you've had a good one.

Here's some of what I've been up to. Brass and copper, African trade beads, conch shell beads.

'...I got better...'

Heh - a line from one of my favorite movies, 'Monty Python's The Holy Grail'.  After accusing the witch of turning him into a newt and being met with stares (he's a human at this moment), John Cleese says, '...I got better...'

I have been sick.  Ugh, sick.  Like heat-sick/stomach flu/low fever/no energy sick.  Better now though.

Enough of that stuff, here's what I did today:

Fiery Water (Farsi: Āb-eh Ātash Afrūz).
Sterling Silver, African bone beads, copper, resin.

'Cupbearer do give the fiery water
That we might burn much hotter today

Drown my fire within this water
And splash my water to set fires aflame'

Happy Transit of Venus

Sending out love and something I worked on today...

African Venus.  Conch shell, bone, and jasper beads.
I love those middle beads - they have tiny carvings on them that 'look' like the astrological signs for Sun and Venus.  I could be wrong, but I like them.
