Ugh, but getting better.

I've been sick.  Plague-like.  Ugh.  Tomorrow (New Year's Eve), I have to pick up my art from the gallery, then will crawl back into bed.  Hoping to be better so that I'll not 'have' to go back into bed, though.  Thinking positively! :)

If I don't post until New Year's Day, I'm sending you all love and joy and peace for the New Year!

This past week just flew by, Happy Holidays!

Hello all,

Between finishing holiday preparations and getting ready for next month's show, I didn't allocate time to sit down and write as much as I prefer.  Ah, well - onward!

I worked at the gallery on Wednesday, and got lots of components prepared for new jewelry.  I love being able to work there while working on my things! :)

Working at the Gallery on Wednesday.

Here is a picture of our tiny tree.  Every year, I make or buy a new ornament, and most of them are animals.  We don't buy trees, and because we live in the redwoods I generally make a tree out of branches (fashioning them around a tomato cage).  This one is mainly a garland, though. Because we live so far from my family, decorations tend to stick to just me making a little tree (I love getting out all the ornaments, and adore little 'fairy' lights).  Most of the holiday is spent traveling around visiting people. :)

May your holidays be bright, no matter how you spend them.  And may you know that I send you happiness and best wishes, with all my heart.  It is full tonight.  :)

These last few days have been flying by.  I have had 'stops and starts' with jewelry work, some of the stops because of the cold weather (studio is freezing), but others because I don't see where to  head with an idea.  I'll get a piece of brass or copper ready for something, and then don't 'feel' the direction it wants to go - so I put it down.  No forcing.  The metals tell me when and how they want to work.

Not to say that there isn't anything to do!  ;)

Colors are giving me SO much joy right now, in the darkest part of the year, which amuses me.
Hope your week is going well.

A new favorite.

They just came out so 'right' - from start to finish.  The copper pretty much painted itself, then the folds went where THEY wanted to go, and then with a little doming they were done...except for the addition of two beautiful Jupiter jasper beads.

I'm in LOVE with these beads!  I want to use them in everything.  Too bad I only have 10 of them.  :D  Looking for more...

Come and Gone earrings :)

I posted these this afternoon, and an hour later they were sold - thank you! I love them for the patterns that showed up so well over the fire painting - the texture really speaks to me. The beads are by Mary Ann Carroll, some of my favorites!

New earrings for today. Fire painted nickel silver and ceramic beads from Mary Ann Carroll. I love these, especially how they sing when worn. The metal has a light airy quality to it.

Power's back.

Just a quick note to say I've missed updating my blog as well as posting new listings on Etsy - we had a huge windstorm earlier this week, and pretty much everything blew down besides the redwoods.  The power and hot water were off for over three days, and just came on at 5AM today.

Hot showers are fabulous.

I can honestly live without internet and TV, but I have come to really love electric lights.  The past few nights, Mark and I spent our evenings talking and reading books by flashlight - that is, when we weren't recharging the cell phone in the car outside (that was funny, actually).  We'd take drinks and snacks and take turns charging it up.  Nah, I'm glad to have the lights back.  Will post more tomorrow, and looking forward to catching up on my favorite blogs!
