Long day!

Today was busy.  A 'checkup' MRI in the morning (I get one yearly to check on things with the MS) in Santa Cruz (about 40 minutes away, a long drive for me), then home to rest and then work on more jewelry.  We are not in a 'trick or treat' zone (too far up for walkers/no kids nearby that I know of), so I've been doing some paperwork and things tonight while listening to my husband's choice of movies on the television.  Ha!  Much of what he is watching I really don't want to see, honestly ;)

There are three new pairs of earrings and some pendants, and I hope to get pictures and listings up tomorrow!

Happy Halloween/Samhain/All Hallows Eve,

Gift of Art Show

There is a little video of the show here:

I'm a new artist for them, so I'm not named but about 1 minute 35 seconds in, you can see my jewelry (hanging on white cards) in the window.  ;)

Lots of good work done today.

I've been working on getting new stock into the Etsy shop after all the earrings were made this past weekend for the Ben Lomond art show, and today I finally got a few things photographed!  Much more to do, but it's a start. ;)  Here's a peek at what's been going on:

Everything is Ready.

*Note, this is a repost, as somehow I got some spam on the original.  I deleted the original post then reposted it today...

I think!  Got the business cards, artist statements, display, inventory list...and everything now goes off to Mountains Art Center tomorrow.  I'm excited and nervous (in a good way)!

...and I'm now officially exhausted.  Loving life and glad to be tired - hopefully I'll sleep all night!

Love My Art Jewelry

My Guest Blog post is up at Love My Art Jewelry today!  It feels like my birthday - I don't know, something!  (But GOOD)

So much to do today at the bench.  I have to catalog and duplicate 10 pairs of earrings for Sunday's delivery to Mountain Arts.  I'm excited, nervous and ready!!!!

Anyway, am going to take pictures this afternoon after I get some things worked on, and if time, will post them here.  Either today or tomorrow morning.

Sunshine in Fall Creek, Felton, CA.

Hope you are having a great day!

Busy day.

Today has been one of those days I adore - being able to work as hard as I can, as long as I can, on art.  Admittedly, some of that is also 'marketing', or getting pieces ready for this or that, but as a new person to this business (trying to make it a business, that is), I know from past jobs that the more I put myself out there, the better chances I have.  So today I worked on pieces, read a prospectus or two, and found out how to apply for programs and some shows.  We'll see how it all shapes up in the next month!

'Fire' Earrings - Fire Painted Copper, Antique Bone Beads, Amber Beads.

'Movement' - Fire painted Brass and Copper focal, polymer clay beads, amazonite, jasper, copper clasp.

Hope your day was wonderful!

Big weekend and week ahead!

Back from my trip up to Nevada City to visit my family - wonderful time, always too short.  There's a lot going on in the next week, and I'm excited to get into it.  Tomorrow (Saturday) is the 'Encore' day of Open Studios, and I'm looking forward to exploring the work of fellow artists.    A few weeks ago, I met artist Doug Allen Masury at Open Studios, and he is interested in using some of my pieces in his tapestries.  I'm excited to get pieces over to him, and to see how he will incorporate them!

Sunday I am looking forward to working with a dear friend, Robin of Bird Song Designs.  We're going to have an art day in my studio - she's incredibly talented and working with her always opens up new creative inspirations.

And - I was invited to be a Guest blogger for Love My Art Jewelry!
My contribution will be this coming Wednesday, October 19.  Stay tuned!

That's it for today ;)

New brass and copper fire painted pieces, drying off.

These triangles are really making me happy!

bad light (it's raining and I don't have the light box set up), but honestly? These are for posterity as well as for the blog.

a ring for me.  :D

So tired but really feeling accomplished today.

I'm really happy with a $15 investment I made today - two clamp lights and a white storage bin.  They are the new photography studio and while some adjustments need to be made (different bulbs, I think), I am finally getting the light I'm wanting for the pieces coming out.  Slowly but surely things are 'getting there.'  I am so impatient, but I have to remember I've only been putting my things 'out there' since July of this year.

I worked on more brass and copper today, in preparation for lots of upcoming projects.  More on that in the next few days!!  We are going up to visit my Parents on Tuesday, so I may be offline for a day or two.  Enjoy your weekend/week!

Successful Day (and it's not over!)

Pictures of today's new work, some of them also work from the week being finished:

Bee medallions, ready for painting; large and small new pendants ready for polish.

More of the same, new fire painted earrings and pendants!

Some of the other pendants.  I'm in love with the fire painted square top right, and don't want to cut it up. ;)  Am thinking of framing it!

Hope you're having a great weekend! - Juliette

Getting back into it...

It's been a challenging few days, healthwise.  Each month I go in to the hospital (outpatient for a few hours) to receive an infusion to help me with my Multiple Sclerosis.  I went in on Wednesday, and felt a bit flu-ish the last few days.  It happens sometimes, as the infusion drastically lowers my immune system.  So, I have been taking it easy a bit (except for today's lovely dentist cleaning, yay!).

But - feeling much better, and am back to the studio tomorrow!  So many things going on in my head that must be created!

Happy Weekend, everyone :)

What a weekend!

There was a great surprise party for a dear friend on Saturday, followed by watching BBC's Doctor Who Season Finale later that night.

Then Sunday it was Open Studios, and I went with Jennifer from Seeds in the City and our dear friend Melanie went over to see the work of Doug Masury, an incredible textile artist and photographer.  His tapestries are AMAZING!!  If I don't find online photos of his work, I'll scan in his artist postcard information to show.

There *may* be more to share about Doug, but I'm going to hold on to that for now.  I promise to post more information if it transpires!

Sunday was also Love My Art Jewelry's first group sale, and what beautiful work there was!  Hope you got a chance to visit the site and have a look around.  It was quite an honor to have my work displayed alongside some really talented artists, and fun, too!

Until next time, hope you are well. :)
