Finally, rain!

Working hard on many commissions, and am in need of updating my Etsy site.  Hoping to do that soon.  In the meantime, here are some of the commission pieces I'm working on.

Yay for rain!  We need it so much. XOXO, J.

So I caught something from Mark, and it's some plague-like thing that is really exhausting.  Fever, sneezing, exhaustion, a strange sore throat that feels more like something hurts on the side of my throat when I cough.

Yeah, really want it to just go away so am keeping a low profile and resting lots, drinking tea and soup/broth.

So all this studio time I planned hasn't happened, yet.  But it will.

Have you seen Craft in America, by PBS?  Here's something I've been watching while being a sicky:

Happy New Year, and a return to blogging ;)

Somehow many of my pictures on this blog have disappeared.  :(  Not sure why, but until I figure that out, I wanted to post something to set the year off -

Hoping you all are enjoying the first few days of 2015, and here's to a fantastic New Year!

brass, steel, leather, copper, porcupine quill.

New work, finally!

I've been doing work for a private buyer, which is wonderful but I haven't updated my shop or anything else for a long while.  Hopefully that will happen soon.  In the meantime, here's some of the work I've been doing.  All pieces are brass and copper:

I know that the quality of photography isn't great.  The next step is for me to set up a good place, and I think that's going to be the front porch in the summer, at least.  The studio is beautiful, full of light, but these can really only be 'note' pictures, nothing more. :)

We've arrived :)

It's hard to believe I've been 'silent' for such a long time.  But we've finally moved in (it's been about a week and a half), and things are settling.

What an incredibly difficult haul that was.  For Mark, too.  We had hoped to rent a house owned by a stoneworker, but the move in date was never finalized nor was his acceptance of our rental application, although he seemed to like us.  Made it very stressful to get anything planned.

So - when we thought we still had two weeks or so to find a place, we found - and fell in love - with our house, and four days later somehow we made it happen, and moved in.

It wasn't that easy, though.  I'm sure you all have experienced moving in one form or another, and our move (about 5 hours from Boulder Creek to Nevada City, CA) is not in any way the worst in the world, but it felt excruciating for us.  I am SO grateful to have family up here, and they met us on the other side to help move us in.  Without them, I don't know what we could have done.

Also Jennifer, my dear dear friend, who lent her truck and her strength.

So as tired as I am, things are coming together, including the new studio which has incredible natural light!

the front of our house.  We have a patio and space for a garden out back - photos coming.

I am not the only one who loves this window seat.  Lapis follows the sun around the house and this is his last stop before dinner :)

More pictures and words in the coming days.
I've missed you all..

Love, Juliette

Feels like something is missing.

uh, oh yeah - we've not moved yet, and I'm not creating.

I stopped working on new pieces with the vow to go full steam ahead, once we moved.  I thought that it would take stress off myself, and keep things open.

I miss art. I miss creating.

We are moving on May 15, about a month from now, and that's good in the sense that I can pack slowly and carefully.  It's not good in the sense that I have SO MUCH to tell you guys!!!!!  Some great things are happening/in the works/not solidified yet, so I don't want to spill any beans but just enough to say that I can't wait to share everything with you in the near future.

LOVE LOVE LOVE, and may your creating infuse your entire life, from dreams to doing.

XOXO Juliette

so, yeah....

Well, for one thing, I'll have to change the name of my blog.  I think I might just use my name.

We are moving to Nevada County in May.  No house found yet, but until then, I need to focus on getting somewhere to live, and moving (it's a long distance move), so I'm going to take a break from the blog.  I won't put Etsy or FB on hiatus as I need SOME communication or I'll go batty.

Ugh, I'm going to miss these redwoods so much.  Even though it is gorgeous in the Sierra Nevadas, it's just not redwood country.

Love you guys.  :)
